YOGA STYLES
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (90 / 105 min.)
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a very athletic, dynamic form of yoga. The flowing movements lead to an increase in strength, flexibility and energy. Through the synchronization of breath and movement and the repetitive sequence of asanas (yoga postures), the practitioner is able to experience a state of meditation and calm.
Ashtanga "Half Primary" – Primary Series through Navasana (90 min.)
Class for complete beginners to the Ashtanga Vinyasa system. This class will provide students an opportunity to learn the ujjayi breathing technique that is integral to the practice. The first half of the Primary Series will be taught at a slower pace, which allows for more detailed instruction and individual correction.
Ashtanga "Full Primary" – Full Primary Series (105 min).
The entire Primary Series taught in the traditional style. Emphasis is on the flow of the sequence in coordination with the ujjayi breath. Individual corrections are provided as needed. Attendance in the Level 2 class for at least one year recommended, or with teacher’s consent.

Ashtanga Mysore Style Self-Practice (120 min.)
Mysore Style Self-Practice is the traditional practice method of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system as taught by guru Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, of Mysore, South India. In this form of practice, each person goes through the set sequence of poses at his or her individual pace, in harmony with the rhythm of their own breath. Working independently of a teacher’s instruction allows the practitioner to shift their focus within, resulting in a practice that is at once dynamic and meditatively still.
The self–practice group is an opportunity for Ashtanga Vinyasa practitioners of all levels to deepen their practice within a group environment. The collective breath makes the room come alive, helping to support each person at whatever level they may be in their physical practice. An experienced yoga instructor will be responsible for each session, and will provide individual assistance and adjustments as needed.

 Ashtanga Inspired Flow (90 min.)
This class draws its inspiration from the sequences of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, which will vary to emphasize different aspects of the body, thereby exposing practitioners to a wider range of asanas in order to increase and challenge ones strength and flexibility. Moving through postures in a flow style will allow for smooth transitions while using the principles of vinyasa.
Anusara Yoga / Basic Anusara Yoga (90 min.)
The word Anusara means "flowing with grace". Anusara Yoga is based on Hatha yoga and the fastest growing yoga style worldwide. Anusara Yoga combines simple and effective biomechanical principles to adjust the body with a deep, spiritual understanding of yoga. These classes focus on precision and technique but are also light and fun. Anusara is at a slower pace guided by precise instruction. Anusara classes are suitable for all levels. Basic Anusara is designed for beginners.
Ayur Yoga (60 min.)
A gentle style of yoga in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya (India). Ayur Yoga stresses the importance of the individual, and tailors the practice to each person's capacity and degree of flexibility. Yoga postures are carefully chosen and built up in a sensible way. The 60-minute class is taught in German. Ayur Yoga is suited for beginners to yoga, and especially recommended for older practitioners, or less physically able persons.
Hatha Yoga / Basic Hatha Yoga (90 min.)
In this class, the basics of hatha yoga are being taught and practiced: conscious breathing, observing the mind, while practicing and deepening the classical asanas and sun salutations - these are the elements that let us experience yoga. Practice mindfulness for 90 minutes, without expectations and without ambitions. A great class to start out practicing yoga.
Hatha Flow (120 min.)
During these 2 hours we let go of space and time and dive into mindfulness and effort. We begin by flowing through some sun salutations, after which we will deepen and explore a wide range of classical asanas, carried by the flow of our breath. We will ease toward the end of the class by practicing some excercises to regulate our breath (pranayama) and then allow ourselves to witness our own mental and physical relaxation in savasana (deep relaxation). All levels are welcome.
Hatha Restorative Yoga (90 min.)
A slow, gentle, restorative Hatha Yoga class for all levels. This two-folded class combines asana movements with restorative poses, offering the opportunity to linger quietly for a few moments and savor the simple sweetness of life. Different props support long holds of postures. An ideal practice after a strenous week for anyone who wants to work deeply without force or strain.
Vinyasa Flow (90 min.)
This class moves fluid and continuous through different yoga postures (asanas). An invigorating dance like yoga lesson. The classes are flowing at a moderate pace guided by detailed instruction. The postures are kept save and simple, focus on building strength, endurance and flexibility. Basic yoga experience is recommended.
Basic Vinyasa Yoga (90 min.)
In this class we learn the basics of Vinyasa Yoga: different breathing techniques (Pranayama), Sun Salutations, classic postures and the union of breath and movement. The asanas are taught according to the level of the students and their individual needs with the teacher demonstrating the asanas for a clear understanding. The Yoga we practice in this class can be both calm and challenging; we practice with attention to learn the asanas properly and correctly.
Yoga Basics is for anyone new to yoga. This class is specially designed for beginners but also serves as a powerful refresher for ongoing students who like to revisit specific aspects of their practice. Anyone can start anytime without prior reservation.
Basic Vinyasa Flow with Chanting (90 min.)
This night class combines gentle vinyasa flow yoga with another element of the rich tradition of T. Krishnamacharya: This element is known as chanting. While we practice dynamic asanas, we chant OM on the exhalation – we do it slightly more extensively than usual and thus experience how the vibration promotes relaxation, how we become more present in the moment and how we open up to joy and happiness. A specific mantra is practiced for several weeks in a row. Thanks to the extended repetition of these practices the effect of a mantra can be felt in depth.
This class is suitable for all levels. No previous experience in singing is required.
Lunch Flow (60 min.)
This Vinyasa Flow class builds strength, balance and flexibility. The class is taught with simple postures, works for all levels and is suitable for anyone looking for a midday workout with all the benefits of Yoga. All students with basic yoga experience are welcome.
Yin Yoga (90 min.)
Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more dynamic and invigorating yoga styles. In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive 'stress' on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body (especially around joints, in the lower back and along the spine).
Yin Yoga nurtures energetic balance, relaxes us closer to the skeleton and opens the subtle energy channels to let energy (chi, prana, etc.) flow freely again. This leads us to experience a profound sense of inner calm, which allows us to sit in meditation more peacefully.
This practice is appropriate for students of all levels, especially recommended for Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga practitioners.
Yoga Nidra (60 min.)
Yoga Nidra - „the sleep of the yogi“ - is a highly efficient method of deep relaxation that has been systematized and modernized by Swami Satyananda Saraswati (Bihar School of Yoga, India). Yoga Nidra helps us to completely relax and regenerate on a physical, mental and emotional level. At the same time it is vitalizing and invigorating.
To prepare we practice a few gentle asanas and/or pranayama exercises at the beginning of the class. After that we dedicate ourselves completely to the Yoga Nidra practice. As we lie in Savasana (corpse pose) for 30-40 minutes, the teacher guides us through a series of mental journeys and visualizations. Thereby we reach a state between wakefulness and dream. In this state we can access deeper levels of our mind, the unconscious mind. After Yoga Nidra we feel refreshed and alert.
If practiced regularly, Yoga Nidra is a great source of health, strength, inspiration and joy.
No previous yoga experience is required for this class. It is suitable for everyone. Especially people that are frequently exposed to stress will draw great benefit.
Pranayama / Meditation (60 min.)
Pranayama is a central practice in the traditional Hatha Yoga system. It uses the breath, balancing of subtle energy patterns, energetic cleansing, and locks (Bandhas). This technique is used as a therapeutic/healing practice and for spirit development. It is also a gateway into the deep states of concentration and meditation.
This class is presented in its traditional format, directly from a lineage that dates back generations. It provides a steady, safe opening for students and gives stability and clarity in the physical and mental realms.
It is recommended that students have some experience in Yoga Asana and/or seated Meditation practice before beginning pranayama.
Prenatal Yoga for Pregnant Women (60 min.)
Yoga is a beautiful companion during pregnancy and helps to face the natural changes of the body with joy, confidence and self-assurance. The exercises are especially selected and modified for pregnant women. They particularly strengthen the back, they support the pregnancy and prepare for the birth. Correct and conscious breathing promotes concentration and refines the inner perception. Prenatal Yoga is suitable for women with or without yoga experience in each stage of the pregnancy.
Post-natal Yoga (60 min.)
This class is recommended for mothers from 6 to 8 weeks after birthing. Their babies are also welcome.
In this class the women concentrate on good posture with particular focus on the pelvic floor, the abdominal muscles and the spine. In a group class format we will work on bringing awareness to, gently stretching, and strengthening these parts of the body. Physical and mental well-being after birthing will be promoted, and muscle tone, stability and physical strength systematically reestablished. Questions and individual requests will be addressed. Post-natal yoga should be practiced regularly for a duration of at least 8 weeks after giving birth. Yoga experience is not required.
Baby & me (60 min.)
A unique class, it was developed for mothers who want to continue their yoga practice a short time after childbirth and bring their newborn (from 6 weeks old until crawling) with them. This class aims to build up the specific muscle groups after birth, to meet other new mothers and to have positive interaction with the baby. The atmosphere during class is extremely relaxed: Mothers can practice yoga while their baby sleeps nearby, or they can integrate the baby into their yoga practice. And, of course, there's plenty of time breaks to nurse the baby as necessary.
Private Lessons (60 / 90 min.)
Private classes are excellent for students who want to learn yoga on a one on one basis. Ideal also for small groups who want to practice at a time of their own choice. By appointment.
