Kirtan Concert with The Subway Bhaktis from Australia
Discover the beauty and power of your own voice in an evening dedicated to the heart, and to absolute fun and joyful devotion!
On the occasion of her 3 day workshop Rachel Zinman and Nyck Jeanes - The Subway Bhaktis - invite you to an evening of Kirtan at AIRYOGA on Saturday, May 15, 2010.

In Sanskrit the word kirtan means "to repeat" and consists of mantras sung in call and response. Kirtan and Bhajan are forms of Bhakti or devotional yoga that celebrate the beauty of our connection to life and the longing for unconditional love by coming together and singing powerful Sanskrit mantras and inspirational songs.
Ancient mantras instilled with wisdom and energy and songs of love and devotion can bring us to a state of deep active meditation where we can experience the vibrations of our own divine essence. This precious heart-connected space aligns us to our purpose and passion and helps to heal energetic and emotional blocks that hold us back from living freely from the heart.

Rachel Zinman has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and has taught for 16. Prior to her initial yoga education Rachel trained as a professional dancer and choreographer in the USA and in Australia. Discovering yoga she originally trained in the Iyengar and Ashtanga methods and first began teaching in her role as Head of Dance at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium where she introduced yoga to the curriculum. Her teaching style continues to reflect her deep engagement with the arts - dynamic and precise with an emphasis on mindfulness. While again living in New York from 2000 to 2004 Rachel met Yoga Works and ISHTA yoga founder Alan Finger teaching in his Be Yoga studios for four years. There she co-created and coordinated the Be Yoga Teacher Training Program, becoming a senior facilitator and mentor.
Rachel returned to Australia to teach in the Yoga Arts Teacher Training, and since 2005 has created and facilitated her own teacher trainings and workshops in the ISHTA System in Australia, India, Bali, Japan, New York and in many major cities in Europe. In 2006 she began practicing Bhakti Yoga and has incorporated Yantra, Mantra, Mudra and Tantric rituals into her workshops and trainings. Rachel’s deep personal experience and investigation of meditation allows her to be both intuitive and creative in her work and she feels grateful to be able to share her passion with others.
Rachel also co-created and produced a popular Australian Yoga Video series and a Kid's Yoga Video. She is an award-winning musician for her album of chanting and devotional song, “Sita Ram”, and is published poet.
For more information please visit Rachel Zinman’s Homepage at www.ishtasystem.com.

Nyck Jeanes is a radio broadcaster in Byron Bay, Australia, and Australian producer of the Path of Love process www.pathoflove.net. He is a musician, songwriter and documentary soundtrack composer for ABC Australia and Channel 4 in Britain and was a performer in duos, bands and theatre work for many years. He has also been a successful actor, poet and journalist.
Chanting came into Nyck's life through partner Rachel while they lived in New York City. Nyck took some of the mantras Rachel practiced and together they created musical pieces, resulting in the award-winning album “Sita Ram” now released in Europe on Silencio and in Australia. He and Rachel conduct Kirtan and sacred ritual and give inspirational performances in Australia, Japan, Europe and New York.

You can listen to samples of Rachel and Nyck's CD “Sita Ram” at www.subwaybhaktis.com.

Baby & me Yoga Class
Nina Calame teaches a Baby & me Yoga class every Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00m a.m. This class has been developed for mothers who want to continue their yoga practice in the weeks after birth and involve their babies (from 6 weeks old until crawling) with them.
This class aims to get in shape again after birth, to meet other new mothers and have positive interaction with the baby. The atmosphere during class is extremely relaxed: Mothers can practice yoga while their baby sleeps nearby, or they can integrate the baby into their yoga practice. And, of course, there is time for breaks to nurse as necessary.

The Baby & me Yoga class can be attended without prior reservation.

10 classes cost Fr. 230.-, a single class is Fr. 30.-.
