INTENSIVE TRAININGS

Prana Flow Intensive „Embodying the Flow“ with Twee Merrigan
Twee Merrigan, a senior teacher of Shiva Rea, will lead an intensive 4-day training from September 9, through September 12, 2010 at AIRYOGA.

Prana Flow Yoga is a revolutionary edge of Vinyasa or „Flow“ Yoga, one of the emerging forms of yoga in the West arising from the tree of Krisnamacharya’s lineage of Ashtanga, Iyengar and Viniyoga. Prana Flow Yoga is an energetic, powerful practice that supports each movement with Prana (Life energy and awareness).

This „Embodying the Flow“ foundational teacher’s intensive will focus on: both the theory and practice of vinyasa yoga, encompassing both its traditional roots and contemporary innovations.
We will cover underlying principles of practice and alignment, the integration of pranayama, bandhas and asana, creative sequencing and adjustments, the cultivation of meditation, and tools for embodying the flow in practice, teaching and in daily life.

Our exploration:
• The Embodiment of Tantric Hatha Yoga and the Roots of Vinyasa Yoga
• The five movements of prana that serve as the underlying flow of yoga
• Shiva’s three-part vinyasa method for teaching alignment in the flow and creating transformational vinyasa sequences
• How to teach and integrate bandhas, pranayama and Shiva’s innovative “namaskars”
• Energetic alignment, vinyasa krama and hands-on assists for the core family of asanas
• How to create the sutra or theme of the class through Shiva’s wave theory of creative and effective sequencing
• How to teach and modify four different vinyasa series for beginners to intermediate levels
• Embodying the flow experiences through live music and yoga trance dance
• Living yoga with an understanding of your personal sadhana and sva dharma, or service to the world.

Twee Merrigan teaches globally as a recognized teacher and trainer of Prana Flow, an empowering, transformational fusion of Hatha Yoga, Tantra, and Ayurveda developed by Shiva Rea (www.shivarea.com). Twee completed her comprehensive Yoga Teacher Training under Yogiraj Alan Finger (ISHTA Yoga) in New York and Shiva Rea in California.
After living in New York City for 12 years (and one year in Australia), she is sharing her passion of yoga through her teachings, living as a global citizen. Twee donates her time and 5% of her proceeds of all her yoga events to local and global charities as a contribution to improving the lives of those less fortunate and reducing our human impact on the world’s natural resources.
More information about Twee Merrigan can be found on her website www.tweeyoga.com
