Yoga & Safari in the Heart of India with Manuela Peverelli
In this 10-day retreat we will spend most of the time in nature. While the day is waking up we will stroll through the fields and catch the sunrise. Afterwards we’ll unroll the mats in the open (but covered) yoga shala just above the quiet river, where the Indian children play, the buffaloes come to drink water and the tribal women wash their clothes. While we practice, very likely we may see monkeys jumping around in the trees, and the birds singing will be our background music. In midst of these authentic Indian colors, smells and sounds our yoga - including Asana, Pranayama, Meditation and Chanting - will unfold.
The afternoons offer time to adapt the schedule according to the individual needs and likes; resting in the beautiful retreat surroundings or joining one of the organized trips, which lead us into the nearby village, to the weekly tribal market or hiking to a wonderful platform were we enjoy a great panoramic view.
Other highligths are two half day safaris in the 2000 square km Kanha National Park, which is well known for it’s tigers. Well trained and experienced naturalists will guide us and with some good luck we are going to meet the lepard or the tiger.
In the evening we will be sitting around the campfire under the wide open stary sky, exchange our experiences and impressions from the day and listen to the stories and lectures of the lodge team. Through their authentic sharing we’ll be learning lots about the culture and the rural Indian lifestyle.
This unique retreat will nurture your soul, clear the mind and for sure will vibrate within you as an impressionable memory even once you are back home.
It addresses yogis, who are appreciating to spend time being in nature and who like to experience the rural countryside of India. The very attentive and caring lodge team (Indian and Swiss) adds to a unique and positive retreat experience.
For attending this retreat, 1-2 years of yoga experience is required.
Participants in this retreat may want to consider getting to India (e.g. Dehli) a couple of days earlier to acclimate to time change and culture.
Manuela Peverelli teaches yoga since 2008. Her attitude and approach towards life is deeply influenced by her Tantric, Vedic and Buddhist studies and practices. She perceives human beings with all their unique facetts as a miracle of the Universe and intends to always search for the macroscopic, wider perspective of the cosmic truth rather than staying limited in the narrow personal I-view of life.
An education in Ayurvedic psychology at the European Ayurveda Academy in 2013 has enriched her original background in western psychiatric nursery.
Manuela’s teaching is dynamic and powerful, but at the same time a journey to the inner stillness as our refuge. For her, the techniques of Yoga are simply the tools to create a more harmonized home within the body and mind for recognizing the essence of the real self.
Manuela currently lives and teaches in Zurich, but for her own studies and practice periods she spends the Winter months in Asia since almost 10 years.
