Pranayama & Meditation
Pranayama & Meditation

Pranayama is a central practice in the traditional Hatha Yoga system. It uses the breath, balancing of subtle energy patterns, energetic cleansing, and locks (Bandhas). This technique is used as a therapeutic/healing practice and for spirit development. It is also a gateway into the deep states of concentration and meditation.
This class is presented in its traditional format, directly from a lineage that dates back generations. It provides a steady, safe opening for students and gives stability and clarity in the physical and mental realms.
It is recommended that students have some experience in Yoga Asana and/or seated Meditation practice before beginning pranayama.

Anusara Yoga (Intermediate)
Anusara Yoga (Intermediate)

The term Anusara means, “flowing with grace.” Anusara Yoga combines a simple yet precise set of effective biomechanical principles that are meant not only to align the body but also to facilitate a deep spiritual understanding of “Yoga.” In Anusara Yoga, there are no rigid rules, however, we do adhere to some guiding principles that allow practitioners of all abilities to honor their uniqueness. From this perspective, Yoga means saying, “Yes” to the entire magical spectrum of life. It means that we become aware of and embrace every facet of our humanity. Yoga is a practice of opening our hearts to the present moment without being influenced by our likes and dislikes. Our mind and body should be aligned with our hearts so that our practice can originate from deep within.
Anusara teachers emphasize precise alignment in order to prevent injuries while simultaneously drawing on heart themes to help students experience the full benefits of their asana practice. Anusara classes are moderately paced, the asanas range from easy to advance and there is a balanced mix between dynamic flow and static sequences.

The term Anusara means "flowing with grace". Anusara Yoga is based on Hatha yoga. It combines simple and effective biomechanical principles to adjust the body with a deep, spiritual understanding of yoga. It means that we become aware of and embrace every facet of our humanity, including our light and shadow, our emotions, impressions, and thoughts. Yoga is a practice of opening our hearts to the present moment. Our mind and body should not be subjected to external controls but rather be aligned with our hearts so that our practice can originate from deep within.
These classes focus on precision and technique but are also light and fun. They are guided at a slower pace and are suitable for all levels.
