New at AIRYOGA as from January 2020

Starting in January, 2020 the AIRYOGA class schedule will get a few changes. These three classes will be taught by other teachers from the AIRYOGA team:

Hatha Yoga on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. at Studio Fabrikstrasse:

Pranayama on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. at Studio Oberdorfstrasse:

Advanced Hatha Yoga on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at Studio Oberdorfstrasse:

On top of this, we are very excited to announce that AIRYOGA will be adding a new teacher to its Ashtanga program. Brett Porzio will be joining our Ashtanga teaching line up as of January 2020! We feel very honored to have such an experienced teacher and practitioner join our sangha and are extremely grateful to Michael Hamilton and his team that made sacrifices and gave up classes to make this possible.

Brett has been a student and practitioner of Ashtanga yoga since 2000, when he began his studies with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, R. Sharath Jois and Eddie Stern. He has taught Mysore style Ashtanga extensively, and internationally, throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia, and is delighted to return home to Zurich, and AIRYOGA, where he first began teaching in 2007.
For Brett, daily practise signifies a devotional space in which reverence and acknowledgement for creation, and the flow of life’s cycles are engaged and experienced directly. Practise assists us in surrendering and purifying what must be let go of, across every domain of life, whilst preparing a fertile ground upon which to welcome the new. 
Practise and teaching together form a dedicated, daily therapeutic ritual that hold space for healing, restoration and replenishment. Perhaps most satisfyingly, practise pacifies the dualities of embodied existence, granting the direct experience of peace, personal freedom and inner knowing - above and beyond the alternative of modern culture’s insufficient default toward a model of universal truth. Joy, and life’s exhilarating potential abounds when we first give some love, recognition and attention to our inner worlds each day.
Brett continues to study annually with his principal teacher, R. Sharath Jois in Mysore, India. In addition, Brett studies Vedic chanting and ritual with Prof. M.V. Varadarajan of Melkote, Karnataka, and Vipassana meditation with Sayadaw U Vivekanada.
Brett teaches in English.

Brett and Michael look forward to working together and to harmonizing their teaching styles in a way that will provide students and practitioners access to the broader community that will be facilitated by our combined approaches.
