Manuela Peverelli
Developing Awareness in Stillness and Movement, Dealing with Emotional Entanglements, Building/Integrating them into Self-practice
In 2002, Manuela Peverelli got in touch with Yoga for the first time and was immediately fascinated by the art of embodied presence. She grew up in Zurich, where she completed her first teacher training in 2008. She then lived in Asia for some years, where she fully dedicated her time to the study of Yoga. In 2012, Zurich became her home base again and she spent the winter months in Asia to deepen her own practice and teach retreats. Silent times in Vipassana and Metta retreats as well as time in Yoga ashrams were equally important to her. She recently completed a three-year education in Buddhist Psychotherapy in Germany. She is still a searcher and continues to be a grateful student. Manuela’s teaching is joyful and powerful, and at the same time a journey into non-conceptual and boundless awareness. Since 2020, Manuela lives in the south-west of France, together with her partner Marc and her son Tao. They lead a small retreat center for mindfulness, ecology and spirituality. She is teaching in various trainings in Zurich and offers retreats and workshops in Switzerland and Europe.
Sascha Delberg
Applied Yoga Anatomy, Pranayama, Injury Prevention
Through yoga, Sascha Delberg has found a path he deeply trusts, one that nourishes, soothes and challenges him on many levels. This path supports his self-reflection, grows with him and is constantly evolving. He feels fortunate to have learned from respected teachers over a long period of time. For many years he was a student of Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor, who satisfied his hunger for a deeper understanding of yoga at the right time and nurtured it for over a decade. Sascha has personally studied pranayama with various teachers including O.P. Tiwari, Paul Dallaghan and Richard Freeman. His understanding has grown through his own practice and through teaching others. Pranayama leaves him with a calm and content mind and a sense of clarity. He is deeply inspired by his meditation teachers, Stephen Batchelor and Martine Batchelor, who have helped him to gain a better perspective on his inner workings. Over the past 20 years he has attended numerous meditation retreats in various traditions. Since 2017 he has immersed himself in yoga therapy and continues to be inspired by Doug Keller, whose approach has enriched his teaching. Sascha's classes combine Ashtanga elements with a deep focus on the breath, therapeutic techniques and a good dose of humor. His passion comes alive in Mysore-style sessions where he supports students individually and guides them on their unique yoga journey. Together with his wife Romana, Sascha runs the Yogawerkstatt in Vienna. He teaches yoga teacher trainings and workshops locally and internationally. After more than 20 years, his joy in teaching yoga is stronger than ever - a testament to the fulfilment that yoga brings as a practice and a way of life.

This module puts modern understanding of the body in traditional ‘yoga’ terms for a deeper appreciation of the practice, and to inspire students to explore the purposes and benefits of yoga for health, fitness, and its therapeutic benefits with understanding and confidence. This will include the very important dimension of the role and benefits of yoga for healthy aging.
Module Topics:
- the myofascial lines governing muscles and joints introduced by Tom Myers, as applied to concepts of prana and of asana. Your understanding of yoga anatomy in these terms will clarify and enhance your understanding of how to teach the practice for therapeutic benefit to your students.
- This will enable you to address common obstacles to practice, and the common therapeutic problems that bring students to yoga. This approach will include:
- Principles of joint health, and how a focus on joint mobility is the first step toward students improving their strength and flexibility, as well as overcoming joint pain.
- Understanding the connections between muscles along myofascial lines, which makes clear the logic and purpose of sequencing, as well as the deep wisdom of the asanas themselves.
- Understanding fundamental functional movement patterns which are supported and improved through asana practice for greater health and freedom from pain.
- Principles by which teachers can assess students’ posture and movement patterns, for the purpose of understanding their pain patterns, and for being able to provide direction through recommendations and guidance for practice.
- Principles of breath in asana practice, and approaches to practice for improving breath patterns.
- Specific understanding of the different dimensions of the aging process, how yoga addresses these and can be adjusted according to students’ abilities.
