Cultivating Heart-Mind Qualities on the Mat: A Workshop Series with Manuela Peverelli
Our fast and loud world takes a high toll on our life quality. It is not always easy to bring our positive intentions as Yogis/Yoginis into life.
This workshop series is dedicated to cultivate heart-mind qualities which are necessary on our way towards more truthfulness, more joy and liberation in our everyday life. The practice on the mat serves for the freedom in our life off the mat.
Each workshop session will contain a contemplation or meditation, an intensive Asana sequence, Pranayama and setting a Sankalpa.
Manuela teaches yoga since 2008. Her attitude and approach towards life is influenced by taoist, vedic and Buddhist studies and practices. An education in Ayurvedic psychology at the European Ayurveda Academy in 2013 has enriched her background in Western psychiatric nursery. In addition, Manuela began to study Buddhist Psychotherapy in Germany in 2018, which also influences what she is sharing.
Manuela’s teaching is dynamic and powerful, but at the same time a journey to the inner stillness as a refuge in this hectic and demanding world. For her, the techniques of Yoga are simply tools to create more harmony within the body and mind for recognizing the essence of the true Self.
Since 2019, Manuela lives in the Metta Villa in the southwest of France, a quiet and nourishing space for retreats and inner transformation that she has co-founded with her partner Marc. For more information please visit www.mettavilla.fr
Manuela Peverelli will offer this workshop series
from Friday, October 29, to Sunday, October 31, 2021
at AIRYOGA, Fabrikstrasse 10 in 8005 Zurich.
Friday, October 29, 2021 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am: Courage
To begin, we will reflect our deep underlying fear which keeps us attaching. We will look into where we developed avoiding strategies to not having to feel this fear. The sister-quality of courage is trust. In order to let go of what keeps us bound we need trust and courage. To be able to trust the process, a detailed understanding of the path and positive experiences along the way are required. Challenges on the mat are an optimal field to cultivate our qualities of courage and trust.
Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Equanimity
Human beings are often longing for structure and control, as this seems to give us security. As we all know, life circumstances, relationships and even our bodies are only partially controllable. There are plenty of life situations in which we lose control and we are forced to accept life as it presents itself. The quality of equanimity is THE medicine for our inner resistance, when things are not happening the way we pictured. The mat is a great training field for enhancing our equanimity.
Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Determination
Spiritual transformation requires patience and endurance. Unhealthy patterns in relationships and habits which keep us stuck need our loving attention until they dissolve themselves. The practice of Asana is an efficient way to develop the quality of endurance and patience. On the mat we learn to stay and quietly listen inwards even when there is the impulse to escape or scream, to continue even when we like to quit, to look out for softness and gentleness whenever we feel frozen or tight up.
A regular practice of at least three years is required for participating in this workshop series.
Manuela teaches in English.
The rate is Fr. 250.- for the entire workshop (3 sessions); or Fr. 90.- per session.
