Yoga in the Desert of Morocco with Manuela Peverelli
An Arabic proverb says: "The Desert cleanses the Soul."
For those who book the entire retreat, our Morocco round trip will start in the vibrant city of Marrakesh, where we will lodge in a Riad at the heart of the medina. Our local, German speaking tour guide will be leading us through the colorful and vivid paths and aisles of Marrakesh.
Our journey will continue with a private bus on the 3rd day through the Atlas mountains towards the South of Morocco (on well developed roads). This impressive ride will take us over the 2260 meter high Tizi-n-Tichka pass to Kasbha Ait Ben Haddou, a village built in traditional Berber architecture, which has often served as movie setting and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Towards the evening we will reach our hotel in Ouarzazate.
On the next day, we will continue on the road of the 1000 Kasbahs into the imposing Todra canyon, and finally into the Oasis of Merzouga, on the border of the desert. There we will take time to settle in and meet the second part of our group for the Sahara trip.
The next day, after a walk through the oasis, a traditional lunch will be served at the family Oussidi’s private house followed by the visit to the local children aid project. In the afternoon by camel we will trek to our camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. During the five days in the desert we will lodge in comfortable Berber tents, practice Yoga twice a day with Asanas, Meditation and Pranayama and soak in the beauties of this vast and calming surrounding. Fortunately, during our time there, a fullmoon will take place, which you might experience as bright as unlike everywhere else.
This yoga and cultural journey can be booked either as a 12-day round trip or as 8-day Sahara trip:
12- day Morocco round trip from Monday, March 11th, to Friday, March 22nd, 2019
8-day Sahara trip from Thursday, March 14th, to Friday, March 22nd, 2019
Manuela Peverelli teaches yoga since 2008. Her attitude and approach towards life is influenced by Tantric, Vedic and Buddhist studies and practices. An education in Ayurvedic psychology at the European Ayurveda Academy in 2013 has enriched her background in Western psychiatric nursery. Currently Manuela started a 3-year education in Buddhist Psychotherapy in Germany. Manuela’s teaching is dynamic and powerful, but at the same time a journey to the inner stillness as a refuge in this hectic and demanding world. For her, the techniques of Yoga are simply tools to create more harmony within the body and mind for recognizing the essence of the true Self again.
Manuela teaches in Zurich and Winterthur, Switzerland and lives in the more rural countryside, but for her own studies and practice periods she spends the Winter months in Asia.

Since 2001, Barak lives in the North of Germany, however, he visits his home country and his extended family several times a year.
