Yoga for the Spine – A Workshop with Stefanie Zimmermann Castson
The central axis of the body, pelvis and spine are key for optimal posture, alignment and stability in the body.
The practice of yoga is a wonderful way to strengthen, stabilize and affirm our center of the body as well as cultivating its mobility and fluidity.
In this workshop, you will learn how to practice yoga spine friendly as well as further details on the features and tendencies of the pelvis and - mostly - lower spine.
With more than a decade’s experience as a professional Physiotherapist, Yoga Instructor and Educator, Stefanie Zimmermann Castson possesses a unique skill set that allows her to share her knowledge with other students and teachers in an accessible, understandable, fun and relatable way.
Out of a need to care for the precious body and health, Stefanie turned her focus on health prevention through movement. She is co-author of the book ‘Back School’ published in 2008 and sold with great success. Stefanie founded ‘Health & Yoga’ in 2009. For AIRYOGA she is teaching classes, workshops, and in the yoga teacher training. She also works as a physiotherapist.

Stefanie Zimmermann Castson will lead this workshop on Sunday, May 12, 2019
from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at AIRYOGA, Oberdorfstrasse 2 in 8001 Zurich.
In the theoretical part (about 30 minutes) you will learn more about the functional anatomy (anatomy in motion) of the spine and pelvis through explanations on the skeleton.
In the subsequent practice, we sharpen our proprioception and move through specific spine movements. We learn to honour our individual body and avoid pain.
This workshop is recommended for all who want to maintain or improve the health of their spine and do not suffer of acute back pain.
Stefanie teaches in English, with German translation as needed.
The rate for the workshop is Fr. 90.-
