Yoga- und Mindfulness Retreat with Frank Schmid and Tanja Forcellini in Sardinia
Find your equanimity and your inner compass during this week of Yoga and Mindfulness with Frank Schmid and Tanja Forcellini at the magnificent Eco Retreat Center Balaiana in the North of Sardinia in Italy. Study the true nature of your mind/body and heart connections. Let all of your senses be immersed - by the smells of the surrounding myrtle trees, the awesome views of the landscape of Gallura, the turquoise blue of the refreshing Mediterranean Sea and its white sandy beaches are in short driving distance from the center.
Each morning we inquire gently within through mindfulness practice and meditation. Afterwards we energize our bodies through pranayama and asanas. Then we enjoy a healthy and wholesome brunch. The rest of the can be spent individually. Enjoy the facilities of the center, the beach is a 20 minute drive away or visit nearby villages. In the evening we meet for Yin Yoga and dinner.
This Summer Yoga week is suitable for both beginners and more experienced participants, who want to deepen their practice and experience the changes and healing effects of a steady Yoga and Meditation practice, combined with healthy food, stillness and plenty of time to rest.
All classes will be taught in German, alternating between Frank (Yoga classes) and Tanja (meditation and mindfulness). Both teachers are fluent in English, in case of Q&A in between the classes.
Frank Schmid started growing in the Swiss Alps, then Zurich, New York and San Francisco. He lived in Vancouver, Canada, for 10 years. He received his Hatha Yoga teacher training from Ifat Erez in Canada and at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, India and he studied Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley. Frank’s daily practice reflects in his classes which he leads with a strong sense for detail, individual safety and fun. For those who take his classes, it is a quiet lesson in self-exploration, opening up body and soul to accept and work through the practice, which at times mirrors the challenges of life.
Tanja Forcellini discovered and learned to appreciate Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga during one of her journeys to the Far East in 1999. Yoga has led her to find answers to the many questions she has encountered on her personal life journey - answers that lay hidden deep within herself. Tanja attended the Yoga Teacher Training in 2004 at Centered Yoga in Asia, where she received certification as a Yoga instructor recognized by the Yoga Alliance. After her pregnancy in 2008, she also attended the Pre and Postnatal Yoga Training at Birthlight UK. After that time, life guided her once more back to silence, and silence moved her from Yoga to Meditation.
The loving and conscious contact and the careful perception of one's own body are the focus of Tanja's classes, as well as the connection of breath and movement. Since 2017, she attends the MBSR teacher training at the Center for Mindfulness in Zurich. To deepen her own practice on the mat, Tanja regularly attends retreats and trainings with internationally recognized teachers. Her spiritual practice is deepened through the challenges of everyday life and especially through stays in the ashram in northern India.

Flight / Transfer
The Balaiana Eco Retreat, close to Luogosanto, is a 45 min. ride from the airport Olbia. Easy Jet has flights from either Basel or Geneva to Olbia. We recommend to book early to take advantage of better prices. You can also take a Swiss flight from Zurich directly to Olbia.
You can also request a taxi transfer from airport Olbia to the retreat center and back. One way costs Euro 70.- per car for up to 3 people. A minivan for 4-8 people costs Euro 90.- per way.
For this yoga week we recommend a rental car. The retreat centers location is wonderfully secluded, the next village is Luogosanto and can be reached by car in 10 minutes, some nice beaches are 20 minute drive away.
If you book early, a rental car for 4 persons will be around Euro 250.- per week, so around Euro 65.- per person/week excl. petrol. Rental cars can be rented directly at the airport (no taxi costs to the retreat center). We recommend to rent cars together, to share the costs and ride together to and from the airport and reduce the amount of cars to rent. We suggest you book and rent your car at www.billigermietwagen.de or www.holidayautos.com
