Yoga to Uplift – The Upper Body in Focus: A Workshop with Stefanie Zimmermann
Since crawling age, often it is not until we practice yoga that we are weight bearing on our upper body. If we practice alignment friendly, it erects and uplifts our upper body, opens the shoulders, engages the core and prevents common (yoga) injuries.
In the theoretical part (about 30 minutes) we will learn more about the anatomy of the upper body through explanations on the skeleton.
In the subsequent physical practice, we learn more about alignment, the facilitation of the stabilization musculature and injury prevention in the area of the upper spine and shoulders within common Yoga poses. We strengthen, open tight structures and learn what you can do to avoid pain and injury.
With more than a decade’s experience as a professional Physiotherapist, Yoga Instructor and Educator, Stefanie Zimmermann possesses a unique skill set that allows her to share her knowledge with other students and teachers in an accessible, understandable, fun and relatable way.
Out of a need to care for the precious body and health, Stefanie turned her focus on health prevention through movement. She is co-author of the book "Back School" published in 2008 and sold with great success. Stefanie founded Health & Yoga in 2009. For AIRYOGA she is teaching classes, workshops, and in the yoga teacher training. She also works as a physiotherapist.
