Come on, Let's twist - Vinyasa Yoga & Metta Meditation with Claudia Eva Reinig
To begin the workshop we will activate the „diagonal lines“ of the body and stimulate the deep muscles with strengthening exercises. This precise work with the body will assist you to „navigate“ a powerful Asana, all the while maintaining comfort in the pose. The conscious and slow movements in the beginning will give you an experience of your postural habits and help to correct these through conscious movement. After this warm-up, we will move in Yoga Flow into more intensive twisting poses and will flow sometimes gentle, sometimes more dynamic, from one yoga pose to the next.
Twisting yoga poses have a wonderful effect on our entire psychological system, the circulatory system and the inner organs of the body. They stimulate the circulation of blood, which additionally stimulates and cleanses the inner organs. Twists create strength and elasticity in the spinal disks - this can help to restore the natural movement radius of your spine, which is essential for the practice of many Asanas. Twists lengthen and strengthen the back and abdominal muscles and stimulate the inner digestive fire.
In this afternoon workshop, we will practice varied and creative exercises and Asanas to promote the flexibility and the rotation of the spine. The dynamic Yogaflow sequence and the wonderful stimulation of the Chakras are an optimal preparation to dive deeper. The polarising effect of the spinal twists will enrich your entire conscious state. Mobility, balance and coordination are enhanced, and on a deeper level, we address our feelings and the entire dimension of the soul.
At the end we come to the Loving Kindness Meditation. A wonderful opportunity to find mental calmness and clarity in a wakened state. With the meditation exercise, we open ourselves to creating a loving and well-wishing attitute towards ourselves, the world, and all sentient beings. The Metta Meditation originates out of Buddhism and offers the gift of healing, happiness and indestructible deep inner trust.
Claudia Eva Reinig is considered an ambassador of mindfulVinyasa Yoga. She has been practicing yoga and meditation since the 80s. Her travels and studies in India over many months led her to diverse Yogis and different Ashrams. She learned authentic Yoga with Sri Sat Chit Anananda in Chennai and explored the meaning of Yoga in many different places. A deepening of her practice through Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, as well as many trainings in India, Sri Lanka and California, all influence her teaching.
Presently Claudia leads retreats, yoga holidays, workshops and trainings as both teacher and trainer. She is a national and international guest speaker at various congresses. She has been in the teacher training team of the Yoga University Villeret, Switzerland since more than 15 years, as well as training yoga teachers in various schools and institutions. She has produced three Yoga Nidra Cds and two Yoga Flow DVDs.
Claudia is actively and financially involved in the support of various animal and environmental organizations such as OceanCare - an organization which promotes the protection of marine mammals and their living environment. She lives in Switzerland during the Summer and spends the winter months in India.
