The practice of Yoga, for CJ, is the embodiment of Sthira and Sukha - steadiness and ease. She believes that the bridge between the two is the playful, energetic dance of the breath. Thus the purpose of our practice is to engage in this dance on our mats and then allow it to guide us in our daily encounters off the mat.
CJ deeply embraces T.K.V.Desikachar’s philosophy that even in a group setting, Yoga is still an individual practice. As such, in her classes, she invites students to explore the mind and body connection using their breath as the vehicle to facilitate this interplay between steadiness and ease.
10 years ago CJ was introduced to the works of Jack Kornfield, Sharon Salzberg, and Joseph Goldstein. Since then, Vipassana Meditation has been an important part of her life. She has attended workshops and trainings with Katchie Ananda, Doug Keller, Stephen Thomas and many other inspirational meditation and yoga teachers. CJ completed her first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2015 at AIRYOGA and finished a second 200-hour training in Dharma & Yoga with Katchie Ananda in 2016. She teaches in English and German.
