Small canvas bag from Cambodia - Stitch by Stitch, Love by Love
These canvas bags are a project very close to the hearts of two globetrotters, Regina and Tanja – Stitch by Stitch, Love by Love. Their insatiable curiosity and their shared passion for Far Eastern cultures gave birth to a months-long collaboration and eventually, to the practical yet unique items themselves. Exclusively produced under socially acceptable conditions, these are intended to be a "help for self-help". "Together for Cambodia", a local non-profit organization, furnishes the diligent needlework. Not only does the organization provide their seamstresses with fair salaries and solid training, part of the income of the sewing workshop also goes to support community-based initiatives. The bags are printed by "Silk Screen", a socially committed enterprise. The locals that run it make it their responsibility to train adolescents in the craft of silkscreen printing.
Regina, who lives in Siem Reap, and Tanja (yogatanja.com) have declared it their heart's true wish to keep pursuing this project, thus making a sustainable contribution to battling poverty in Cambodia and giving more and more people the opportunity to look upon a self-determined future.
